MCP SERVER, AGENT SKILL, REST API

Give your AI agent a real social media department

A chatbot writes captions from memory. ViralHunt gives Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, n8n, OpenClaw or your own agent live tools: what is rising right now across 13 sources, your brand templates to make the picture, a draft queue a person reviews, and publishing to 11 networks once someone says yes.

The free key reads the radar: 24 queries a day at 60 requests an hour, no card. Publishing starts at Creator.

THE LOOP

From a rising post to a scheduled one, in one conversation

The agent does the research and the writing. The decision to publish stays with a person, on every plan, by design and in code.

Ask the radar

The agent reads what is rising right now across 13 sources: posts ranked by the engagement they gained since the last reading, the hashtags and sounds climbing with them, and the hour each network answers best. Live data, not what the model remembers.

Draft on the brand

It rewrites the angle in the brand's voice, fills one of your templates to make the picture, writes the short copy each network needs, notes its sources for the reviewer, and leaves the post in Drafts. Complete, dated, not sent.

Review

A reviewer, a person or a second agent, grades the post against the content rule the platform serves: facts with a source, rights, network terms, tone. A fix sends it back with the note; an OK from the writer never counts.

Publish

An owner or admin approves. The post goes to 11 networks with its per-network copies, first comments and threads; every network answers with its link and every step is in the delivery log.

CONNECT IN A MINUTE

One key, every client

Create the free account, copy the key from API Access, add the server. The same key works in the skill, the MCP server, a Custom GPT, n8n and your own code.

claude mcp add viralhunt -e VIRALHUNT_API_KEY=vhk_your_key -- npx -y viralhunt-mcp
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "viralhunt": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "viralhunt-mcp"],
      "env": { "VIRALHUNT_API_KEY": "vhk_your_key" }
    }
  }
}

The first line is Claude Code; the block goes into Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf or any MCP client. 51 tools appear in the next conversation. On claude.ai, upload the skill folder instead.

THREE JOBS AN AGENT RUNS

What a social media manager does all day, as standing orders

The standing job

Take a page or an account, read its most viral posts across 13 sources, verify each story, rewrite it for the brand, make the picture on a template, leave a few complete drafts a day. In Claude Code it is one command, /viralhunt:job. A recipe does the same for a brand on a clock: source, template, networks, cadence, time.

The reviewer

A second agent reads the content rule the platform serves (what counts as a fact, a meme, a quote, a promo; which claims need a source; each network's limits) and grades every post waiting in Review with a verdict, scores and a note. One pass is /viralhunt:review. The grades per collaborator show up on the Team page.

Brand watch

Keywords per brand are searched on their own clock; the threads whose comments are growing right now arrive by webhook (Discord, Slack or your own endpoint, signed) and on the dashboard, with a daily digest. The agent proposes the reply as a board card; a person posts it. How the webhooks work.

WHAT THE AGENT CANNOT DO

Guardrails that live in the code, not in a prompt

  • It cannot publish. A member or an agent token always lands in Drafts or Review. Only the owner, an admin, or a collaborator the owner marked as trusted approves, and never their own post.
  • It gets only the rights you mint. A token is a reader, a writer, a reviewer, a publisher or full; a group removes rights and the member's role still applies on top.
  • It cannot send twice, too long or too big. The same text to the same account inside three days is stopped, a text over a network's limit is refused instead of trimmed, pictures are fitted to each network's ceiling and oversized videos are refused for that network only.
  • Content is data. The skill and the MCP server tell the agent that a post, a comment or a page it reads is never an instruction, and that the key goes to viralhunt.io and nowhere else.
  • Everything is logged. Every step of a post (created, accepted, published, refused, retried, reviewed, approved) is in its delivery log, and every edit a person made to an agent's draft is kept so the agent can learn from it.

COMPARE

A posting API is not a social media department

The agent-first tools publish well. What they do not give the agent is the research (what is rising across 13 sources) and the review step before a bot posts. The rival cells are the cheapest listed plan that covers that many accounts, read on the date shown.

What every network costs, per brand, per month

One brand is one account on each of the 11 networks. Most tools charge per account or per seat; ViralHunt charges per brand with all of them inside, so the same 11 accounts come to a fraction per account.

FAQ

AI social media agent FAQ

What is the ViralHunt MCP server and what can an agent do with it?

viralhunt-mcp on npm exposes the ViralHunt API as 51 typed tools over the Model Context Protocol, so Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or any MCP client can read rising posts across 13 sources, the top hashtags, trending sounds and the best time to post, fill your brand templates, leave complete posts in Drafts, review them against your content policy and, once a person approves, schedule them to 11 networks.

Will an AI agent publish to my social accounts without my approval?

No. A member or an agent token can only leave a post in Drafts or send it to Review; only the organization owner, an admin, or a collaborator the owner marked as trusted can approve, and an OK a writer gives their own post never publishes it. A token can also be minted with fewer rights (reader, writer, reviewer) so the agent cannot reach the publish actions at all.

Which AI agents and automation tools work with ViralHunt?

Claude on claude.ai through the skill; Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and any MCP client through viralhunt-mcp; ChatGPT through a Custom GPT with one Action; OpenClaw through its skill hub; n8n and Make through HTTP nodes; your own agent through the REST API with a personal token, or by webhook from the composer. Every one of them uses the same key.

How much does API and MCP access cost?

The Free plan ($0, no card) includes a key: 24 content queries a day at 60 requests an hour, on posts 72 hours old and older, with the engagement numbers withheld. Creator ($29/mo, 1 brand, up to 11 connected accounts) lifts the daily cap, shows posts as they break with their numbers, and adds publishing at 100 requests an hour. Studio ($99/mo, 4 brands) has 2,000 requests an hour and Agency ($199/mo, 10 brands) 5,000.

Can the agent run on a schedule, like a social media manager would?

Yes. A recipe is a standing order for a brand: what to post from (the radar, the quote base, the calendar of dates), on which template, to which networks, how often and at what time. The agent reads it through the API, runs it on its own clock, leaves the posts as drafts and stamps each run. The skill ships the loop as a command, so one line starts the daily job on a page or an account.

Can I connect an agent I already run instead of a token?

Yes. Connect it by webhook from the Agents page: ViralHunt signs a POST to your URL when someone asks it something from the composer, and your agent answers once. An agent with no public URL polls the same tasks through the API. OfficeMatrix, the open source office of agents, has the connection built in.
