The first manuscript from my postdoc is out (doi.org/10.64898/202...)! We introduce 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞-𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 for studying population structure change over time, with the temporal resolution of Ancestral Recombination Graphs (ARGs). Joint…

I love this so much! "A language model that only knows what a 5th grader knows." (arxiv.org/abs/2608.13545) littlelearner-ll.github.io
@gbouras13.bsky.social talking about his new protein structure-based bacterial genome annotation tool, Baktfold. 🧫🧬 GitHub: github.com/gbouras13/ba... Preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... #ISME20
I think this 'LittleLearner' paper is SO interesting. They trained an LLM just on 5th grade material. It is not able to answer questions beyond a 5th grade level. Increasing the model size, post-training, and in-context learning don't help…
Gnomix is published! www.nature.com/articles/s41... Still the most accurate & fastest local ancestry inference (LAI) method, bests Flare and others (RecombMix & Orchestra) released since our preprint. Easy to use, github.com/AI-sandbox/…
Our paper on measuring epistemic diversity in LLMs is accepted to #EMNLP2026! We find that diversity has improved, though LLM output is much less diverse than Web search, especially for non-English. Paper: arxiv.org/pdf/2510.04226 Code/d…
