I don't think people understand just how much everything they interact with now is coded with assistance from AI. Every software engineer I've spoken to uses it heavily. Even Linus Torvalds is using it to help with maintaining Linux.
So like what is the bullish case for OpenAI or Anthropic if the basically free open source version of what they can make keeps getting better and better? Is it possible they still have some kind of edge that people pay for?
